God's Kingdom

For our final destination in the Old Testament, we make a stop in the sixth century B.C. Along with many of his people, Daniel was exiled to the foreign land of Babylon. In a culture that was often hostile to God’s ways, Daniel and his friends regularly found themselves in compromising situations. Their faith was undermined and challenged repeatedly in this antagonistic kingdom. But God gave Daniel a vision that would give him hope for the future and which centuries later helped the church understand the significance of what happened in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. As our world becomes harsher to the Christian faith, we may find ourselves in similar circumstances, but we can cling to the promise of God that has been and will be fulfilled in Jesus Christ!
