Our Vision: A Passionate Disciple Participates in the Mission of Jesus
This January we have been exploring a key part of our church’s vision: Passionate Disciples Multiplying Passionate Disciples. What is a passionate disciple? Our definition comes from Matthew 4:19 when Jesus called his disciples, saying, Come, follow me, and I will make you into fishers of people.
- Come - A Passionate Disciple is with Jesus
- Follow me - A Passionate Disciple Follows Jesus’ Ways
- And I will make you into - A Passionate Disciple is Transformed by Jesus
- Fishers of people - A Passionate Disciples Participates in the Mission of Jesus
Not only does Jesus transform your heart and your character as you follow him, but he gives your life new meaning and purpose. Jesus invites his followers to participate in his mission - fishing for people, or as we put it, multiplying passionate disciples. Following Jesus never stops with us. Being a follower of Jesus is always mission driven because Jesus entrusted his mission to us. What does it mean to fish for people? Find out more this Sunday at Troy Methodist Church as we conclude the series, Our Vision: Passionate Disciples Multiplying Passionate Disciples.
