It can be easy for Christians to feel comfortable simply believing privately in their hearts that Jesus is their Lord and Savior. But being a disciple of Jesus was never meant to be just an inward belief. We are called to demonstrate a public allegiance to God, even when it causes problems.
When Paul and his companions preached in Thessalonica that Jesus was the Messiah, they were accused of causing trouble. Their outward commitment to follow Christ was turning the world upside down wherever they went, yet they continued to spread the gospel. So where does your allegiance lie?
